The Goldwood Malibu Series woofers have a design feature usually found in only the most expensive speakers. The outside edge of the cone, or surround, is suspended by a butyl half roll to allow extended excursion. This high compliance characteristic creates exceptional precision, and extends low frequency roll off. Apart from the enhanced suspension, these speakers also employ rigid poly-mica cones and high-temperature voice coils that permit their usage with higher power amplifiers than normal for their size.
